To complement the Government’s efforts towards improving the health outcomes of Kebbi state, MEDICAID FOUNDATION has successfully received Vitamin Angel grant to cover the entire state. As such, The Founder of Medicaid Foundation, Her Excellency Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu further organized a 3-day training for 100 health workers including nutrition officers from the 21 local governments of Kebbi state on the administration of vitamin A, Dewormer and MMS Commodities.
The grant which is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented by Vitamin Angels, includes the donation of Vitamin A and Deworming products which will be distributed to different Primary Healthcare Facilities to support Kebbi state Primary Healthcare Development.
Facilitated by Dr Adedoyin Adesina, the training which took place at the Kebbi Medical Center Kalgo from Monday 14/06/2021 to Thursday 17/06/2021 refreshed Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Nutrition Officers as well as Maternal and Child Healthcare Officers on eligibility criteria and ethical methods of administering the newly acquired Vitamin A, Dewormer and MMS commodities across the healthcare facilities of the state.
Speaking at the training, the Executive Secretary Kebbi Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Abubakar Kaoje expressed profound gratitude to the First lady, the Medicaid Foundation and Vitamin Angels for the effort to support Kebbi state with the commodities. He commended the team for the refresher training with which he said the state stands to improve on its health outcomes.
A total of 100 participants benefited from the training and will be saddled with the responsibility of administering, recording and reporting.
