Kebbi State commence NISDP registration for 105 Youths

The National Industrial Skills Development Program of the Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) is set to kick off in Kebbi state. 105 youth to benefit as Kebbi State Government keys in to facilitate registration in order to ensure a maximum number of Kebbi Youth benefit from the program. Beneficiaries will be trained in the areas of Tailoring, welding, plumbing and pipefitting, cosmetology and a lot more. At the end of the program, a starter pack will be made available for beneficiaries to help them start a business.

On Tuesday 01/09/2020 at the opening ceremony of the program in Birnin Kebbi, the Area Manager, ITF Birnin Kebbi Area Office Mr Inuwa Samaila described NISDP as one of the flagship programmes of ITF. Adding that the program is meant to train youth in various crafts to help in self sustainability for which he says the President Muhammdu Buhari and Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu are very interested in.

 

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Aliyu Gidado Kaliel states that the NISDP actualizes the job creation of President Muhammdu Buhari. He commended the ITF for deploying human resources necessary for the training which will aid in the diversification of the economy as encapsulated in the economic agenda of the President. He adds that the program will empower the youth to become employers themselves and contribute positively to the community and the National economy at large.

Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women and Social Development, Hon. Zahrau Wali enjoined the young people to be dedicated and to employ diligence while undergoing the program in order to receive maximum benefits. She lauded Governor Bagudu for his attention to the needs of women in the state adding that more than 70% of the slots will go to the ladies which further proves the Governor’s dedication to improving the livelihood of women in the state.

“H.E Governor Bagudu is very attentive to the needs of women this is why he is making sure a good number of young women benefit from this program. Empowering a woman is empowering the Nation, for this reason, Kebbi State Government will continue to expose women to skills that will empower them to be self sustainable” she says.
