The program was launched in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari in Kebbi through the CBN.The success story would not have been possible without the moral and material support of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the Chairman Progressives Governors’Forum, the Chairman Presidential Task Force on Rice and Wheat Production and the Vice Chairman, National Food Security Council to our hardworking farmers.

The Anchor Borrowers Program (ABP) had triggered massive rice production, not only in Kebbi State, but Nigeria as a whole. Before the inception of the program in 2015, Kebbi’s rice production was 700,000 metric tonnes per annum, but just within a year of implementing the program, the state recorded 1.1 million metric tonnes. The gains is on and on thanks to the Visionary leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Mai Shinkafa).
