Beach Soccer: Vibrant league, the only way to go, says Mahmud

The President Africa Beach Soccer Union, Mahmud Hadejia has recommended a vibrant league for Beach Soccer development in Africa.

Mahmud who doubles as the Chairman of Kebbi Beach Soccer which is currently ranked No.1 in Africa and 59th in the World Club ranking disclosed this in an interview session with Channels TV on Monday morning.

While reflecting on the developmental programs needed to boost the image of the game in Nigeria and Africa at large, he noted that the real potential of the Beach soccer can only be maximized through a well organized league and a holistic drive from the grassroots including the tertiary institutions.

He called on all the stakeholders including Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Member Associations to see the need to develop the game as a matter of urgency noting that unity of purpose is very important in the bid to raise the bar of the game in Africa.

Mahmud also revealed that preparation is on top gear to create Beach Soccer leagues across the African continent.
