Be wary of COVID-19, disease is real,Gov Bagudu charges Dukku Barrack Community

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has charged the Dukku Barracks community to be wary of Covid – 19 pandemic,just as he intimated that the disease is real.

The governor gave the charge at 1 Battalion, Dukku Barracks, Birnin Kebbi, after observing the two rakaats Jumuat prayer, Friday.

He reminded worshippers in the Mosque that Coronavirus was still around and that the pandemic is stil paralyzing social and economic activities around the world.

The governor cautioned that, there was the need to continue to observe all the precautionary measures, to stop its spread.

He averred: ” That is why, any time, if I have the opportunity like this, I must implore the people to take measures against the pandemic.

“” The pandemic is not peculiar to Nigeria alone , it is prevalent all over the world.

” As i am talking to you now, nobody is sure whether the holy pilgrimage to Mecca will hold or not this year and schools have been closed, ” he said.

Bagudu further charged the community to continue to observe basic precautionary measures against Covid- 19, such as, hand washing, use of face masks and social distancing, among others .

He prayed and commended security operatives, especially the soldiers who put their lives on line, to bring to an end to the recurring security challenges facing the country.

The governor also extolled the existing cordial relationship between the civilians and the soldiers, as well as between Muslims and Christians in the state.

Earlier , the Chief Imam of the Dukku Barracks Mosque, Captain TK Hamisu, offered his sermon on the increasing cases of rape in the society.

He warned the perpetrators of the act to fear Allah, desist and repent, because, “the day of reckoning will come.”
