Following the approval of the N100M COVID-19 Relief Fund which has been disbursed across 21 local governments by the state government, a portion is currently being channeled directly to women and special needs groups across Kebbi state to assist needy people with financial support to cushion the effects the pandemic has had on their family and economic lives.

Hence the relief package is being disbursed with a target of 2250 persons based on 3 categories;
ENTREPRENEURSHIP EMPOWERMENT where petty traders and hawkers, as well as female farmers, are supported.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE at the hospitals as women are some of the most hard-hit who bear most of the struggle in the hospitals. And SPECIAL NEEDS GROUPS such as IDPs, Orphans, Widows, people living with albinism, etc.

The disbursement which began with Rice Pickers in Birnin Kebbi, and Female Inpatients at Yauri, Shanga and Koko on Sunday the 6th of June extended to Argungu and Kangiwa on Monday 7th of June 2021 where 30 female orphans and 40 inpatients were supported with N10,000 each

On Wednesday 9th, June 2021, 40 inpatients at General Hospital Bagudo, 40 at General Hospital Illo and simultaneously 30 at the psychiatric hospital Jega benefited.

The team which comprises members of Medicaid Foundation, a team of Her Excellency the Firstlady Dr Zainab Bagudu and Community Based Organisations at each location continue to enlighten the beneficiaries about covid 19 vaccine acceptance as more locations are being covered. They also advocate for women and children to get vaccinated. Beneficiaries at various locations have commended the Governor of Kebbi state H.E Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and his wife Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu for the thoughtful strategy to ensure that women, children and people with special needs benefit from the relief funds.
