Kebbi sends delegation to Gusau for funeral prayer of late DSP AbdulQadir

A High-powered delegation of Kebbi State Government, on Monday,in Gusau, Zamfara State, attended the funeral prayer of Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP AbdulQadir Garba Hardo, who died in the course of treatment of injury sustained, while in active duty.

Late DSP Hardo, who was the Team Leader of Special Tactical Squad, from Police Force Headquarters, was shot in the leg by bandits, that fractured his bone, at Tsamiya town, in Bagudo Local Government about three months ago.

He passed away in the early hours of Monday, at a Hospital, in Gusau, while preparing to proceed to referral treatment at the Orthopaedic Hospital , Dala , Kano.

Secretary to the Kebbi State State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar, headed the delegation, comprising of the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safayanu Garba Bena, the Special Adviser on Security, retired Major Garba Rabiu Kamba, the Chief Medical Director, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, Dr Aminu Haliru Bunza, and the Chairman of Bagudo Local Government, Alhaji Kaura Dan Hakimi, the area where the incident occurred.

 

On arrival at the late Police Officer’s family house, at bye-pass area, Gusau, the Kebbi State delegation was received by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru and the State Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe.

Thereafter, the funeral prayer was conducted for the deceased at the family house and his burial followed immediately at Unguwar Gwaza cemetery, Gusau.

After the funeral rites, the delegation returned to the family house to extend condolences of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who described the death of late DSP Hardo as painful and sympathetic, “because he laid his life in the course of securing peace for the nation.”

Senator Atiku Bagudu said that, the late Police officer was a gallant and courageous Combatant who performed his duty professionally, with unparalelled excellence.

The Governor prayed Allah to grant him mercy and his family the perseverance to bear the loss.

The Secretary to the State Government, who spoke on behalf of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu presented 2 million naira cash to the family of the late DSP provided by Senator Atiku Bagudu.

The SSG informed the family that, the Kebbi State Chief Executive has also pledged to continue to assist the family.

In a brief remark, the Special Adviser on Security, retired Major Garba Rabiu Kamba, explained that, the money provided by Kebbi State Government should be used for the daily life by the family and not part of items of inheritance .

On behalf of the family, an Uncle of the deceased, Malan Sallisu Bala, expressed immense gratitude to the Govenror for his remarkable benevolence and deep sympathy by dispatching the high-powered government delegation from Birnin Kebbi to Gusau, to partake in the funeral rites and donating huge sum of money for the upkeep of the family.

Malan Salisu Bala also displayed a letter of condolence and commendation by the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, in honour of late DSP Hardo and thanked the Police Boss for such magnanimity.

The mother of the deceased, Hajiya Binta Garba, his wife and children were among family members during the condolence visit.

Late AbdulQadir Garba Hardo was born on 13th October,1979 and enrolled into the Police Force in 2012 .He left behind one wife, three children and an aged Mother.

Among those on the Kebbi State Government delegation to Gusau were the Aide- De -Camp, ADC, to the Governor, DSP Sheriff and the Chief Security Officer, CSO, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, DSP Bello.
