Kebbi to begin training of Ten Thousand AGSMEIS loan applicants

Kebbi State Government has finalised arrangement to commence training of Ten Thousand indigines of the state who will benefit from an agricultural loan under the Nigerian Incentive Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural lending, NIRSAL Microfinance Bank.

The training program takes off tomorrow ( Wednesday 14th April 2021) in Six centers,namely Mallpai Foundation, Birnin Kebbi, Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu and College of Health Sciences and Technology,Jega.

The rest are Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari, College of Basic and Advance Studies, Yauri and University of Agriculture Zuru.

The Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar Yauri announced this in his office while hosting consultants that would conduct the training program.

Babale Umar Yauri said Governor Atiku Bagudu gave an approval for partnership between Kebbi State Government and Moure Consult Limited as well as Mallpai Foundation to train Ten Thousand beneficiaries of the loan scheme in furtherence of effort by his administration to attaining economic prosperity and wealth creation.

According to him, the applicants from the state data capture portal were selected along side completed forms by those that had challenges accessing the portal.

The SSG explained that the training excercise as a prelude to accessing the loan by the beneficiaries was under the auspices of the Agro Business Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme, AGSMEIS.

At the end of the training he said, the Government would perform disbursement ceremony in all the four Emirates in the state.
Babale Umar Yauri made it clear that Governor Atiku Bagudu was committed to ensuring that Kebbi State remained in the forefront in the development programs in all spheres of life among states in the Federation.

He commended the Commissioner for Information and Communication Technology for his zeal to ensure success of the program and his enthusiasm towards the progress of the state digital technology.

On his part, the Commissioner for ICT, Abdullahi Magoro, said beneficiaries could access the loan up to ten million naira at five percent interest repayable in seven years.

He announced that completed forms have already been filled and returned to the Ministry after enlightenment sensitization by the consultant trainers.

Architect Muhammad Tahir , the General Manager and Co-Founder of Moure Consult Limited as well as Attahiru Nasiru , Program Co-ordinator of Mallpai Foundation, briefed newsmen about the modalities of the scheme and its benefits to the economic development of Kebbi State.
