Kebbi state government is to find permanent solution to the problem of gully erosion at Naman Goma, Gwandu Local Government area which exacerbates annual flooding in the area, displacing hundreds of households.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu Bagudu who visited the site this Saturday, ordered local government and state officials to within one week, forward to his office, plan and design of eliminating the problem for prompt action towards enabling displaced persons to return to their homes.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed satisfaction about the level of support and assistance, provided by SEMA, Local Government Officials, the Commissioner, House of Assembly Member and the Permanent Secretary from the area as well as other individuals.
He gave financial assistance to women, youths and elders in the village to cater for their immediate needs while every household would also receive monetary help.
Earlier, the Chairman of Gwandu Local Government Alh. Bello Atiku Kurya, District Head of Gwandu Alh. Zayyanu Haruna Rasheed, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hassan Muhammad Shallah Gwandu, the Village Head of Naman Goma, Alhaji Adamu Bandiya solicited for permanent solution of the menace of gully erosion in the area that has been causing flooding and displacing inhabitants of the town.
They commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and his wives, SEMA and individuals donors for mitigating their hardship, praying Allah to reward him abundantly for the sympathy visit and care.
